We started the last friendly match against Sokol Hostoun, a team from our third largest tournament. The club from Kladno, which has been playing in the CFL for several years, is currently in the second half of the table and, like us, holds friendly matches after the end of the autumn games. Several familiar names are playing for Hostoun – Tomas Marek, a former defender of the league, and Jiri Meeker, who was one of the greatest talents of 1998 in the youth categories. The match was held in Prague Zlichin, the start took place in sunny weather at exactly 14:00. From the first minute, both sides began to show a high-quality game, which, in turn, foreshadowed a good match. The home team distinguished themselves by their experience and promising actions, which they developed mainly from the center of the field, while our guys tried diagonal passes and side attacks. Hostoun realized their attack for the first time in the 25th minute, when Maiker scored from the penalty spot. By the end of the half we had a slight advantage, but we couldn‘t score the very necessary goal to equalize the score. In the first half we managed to keep the pace, but in the second half we weren‘t so successful. Individual mistakes that an experienced opponent was often able to intercept, and not quite clear decisions of the referee led to a loss. Hajek and Kuban football players from Hostoun scored the most goals – each of them scored two. We also created dangerous moments at the opponent’s goal several times, but not a single ball ever got behind the goalkeeper’s back. The result of 5:0 is not the most pleasant farewell to this year, but our guys showed a decent game, and if not for our stupid mistakes and rather strange decisions of the referee, the result would certainly have looked different.
Sokol Hostoun – MSM Football Academy (Mezinárodní Svaz Mládeže) 5:0 (1:0)
